Oxalate Food Directory

Search for specific foods or filter by oxalate levels to manage your calcium oxalate kidney stone diet.

Medical Disclaimer: Oxalate levels can vary based on growing conditions and preparation methods. This tool provides standard clinical estimates. Do not completely eliminate healthy foods without consulting your urologist or dietitian.

Should I completely stop eating high oxalate foods?

Not necessarily. Many high-oxalate foods (like spinach and nuts) are highly nutritious. A proven clinical strategy is to eat calcium-rich foods (like cheese or yogurt) at the exact same meal as high-oxalate foods. The calcium binds to the oxalate in your stomach, preventing it from reaching your kidneys. Read more about stone prevention diets here.

What foods are safe to eat freely?

Foods in the “Low” category generally contain less than 5mg of oxalate per serving. This includes most dairy products, poultry, white rice, apples, bananas, and melons, making them safe staples for stone formers.
